PRESS RELEASE

For Immediate Release

CHARLOTTE, N.C.-  The fast-paced event filled with “geeky” 5 minute talks known as Ignite Charlotte comes back to Neighborhood Theatre in NoDa on February 8th from 7pm-9pm, with doors opening at 6pm.  Tickets are now available on its website.

Ignite Charlotte made its first appearance in August 2010, with a crowd in excess of 200 people. Co-founders Bridget B. Sullivan and Sam Fagan believe that the second Ignite Charlotte may be even bigger. The Ignite talks are meant to spark creativity, passion, conversation and action in cities across the world. Ignite Charlotte 1 had talks ranging from local government, to why one should hire camp counselors, to mobile phone technology. The talks and speakers for Ignite Charlotte 2 can be found on the website.

February’s Ignite Charlotte 2 is also during Global Ignite Week, a week where cities around the world will be holding Ignites while streaming live. Last year, organizations like Mashable and O’Reilly Media covered the week’s events. Visit http://igniteshow.com/global-ignite-week to see other cities that are participating.

Ignite Charlotte is also hosting an Icebreaker Contest before the talks. More information about the contest will be announced on the Ignite Charlotte Blog.

Ignite Charlotte is a volunteer-run, non-profit organization. Businesses and organizations in the Charlotte community have assisted Ignite Charlotte 2. Ignite Charlotte 2’s sponsors include Blueagle Marketing, Neighborhood Theatre, JDW: The Charlotte Agency, The Charlotte Junior Chamber, Robert Christopher Photography, Lightbulb Coworking , Bionix Designs and CLT Blog.
