Ignite Charlotte 3: What Are You In For?

Ignite Charlotte is not your typical speaking event. First off, with a ticket (RSVP button goes live on August 13) it’s FREE to attend. Next, all the speakers that are listed are from our Charlotte community.

And that’s pretty cool. Not everyone who will be presenting on that fateful night of Tuesday, September 13th are professional speakers. We thought about* adding a quick “5 Canons of Rhetoric Course” for speakers before the event, but it wasn’t in the budget.

So what should you expect?

Emphasis on technology, community, and ideas

The overall goal of Ignite Charlotte and Ignite events all over the globe is to share ideas- and quickly-about what is going on in our environment, and why it should be talked about. The creative professional in Charlotte is not alone, and Ignite Charlotte is one of the venues out there where those people can be found. You’re allowed – nay, encouraged –  to speak Geek. According to an IC2 speaker, Geek is Chic.

Popular and Unpopular Ideas

I'm an Attendee

We are not going to see eye-to-eye on all issues, and that’s okay. We may think a certain idea would never work, and that’s okay too. But to be against listening and thinking about those ideas, that’s a big no-no at Ignite Charlotte. “Enlighten us, but make it quick!” means that the only thing we don’t like is long-winded speeches. Everything else goes.

Calls to Action

You’re going to hear and hopefully have some exciting conversations while attending Ignite Charlotte 3. But then what? What’s cool about Ignite Charlotte is that it is not some Rhetorical Limbo where ideas are presented and forgot about. You will learn how you can help bring these ideas into physical form, share these ideas for awareness, or adjust your own.

A Good Time

It’s at the Neighborhood Theatre, there’s a bar and it’ll be packed with creative geeks. Throw an icebreaker contest in there, and ask yourself: why in the world would you want to miss this event?

Exactly. We’ll see you there.

*No, we didn’t.
