What’s Ignite

“Enlighten us, but make it quick” is the mantra and key to Ignite talks.  This truly fun, exciting and unique presentation format brings together community members involved in technology, arts, communications, education, non-profit, the government sector, and more. Here’s how it works:

During Ignite Charlotte, members from the community will share their personal or professional passions using 20 slides that auto-advance every 15 seconds for a total talk time of 5 minutes.  Talks ranging from Why Vultures Are Awesome to Standing In The Center of The Digital Divide are thought up by those of you in the community who have the guts to get on stage to enlighten us with your creativity. Admission to Ignite Charlotte is for ages 18 and older. Stay tuned for more details on how to RSVP!

Interested in being a speaker at the next Ignite Charlotte? Talk submission rules will be announced two months prior to the event. You can view videos from past Ignite Charlotte events for inspiration. They can be found on our Gallery page.

Who made this up anyway?

Brady Forrest, Technology Evangelist for O’Reilly Media, and Bre Pettis of Makerbot.com, formerly of MAKE Magazine, started Ignite in Seattle, WA circa 2006. You can read more at Igniteshow.com
